The 海角直播 Award for Early Career Clinical Microbiology Research recognizes research excellence and achievements of early career microbiologists in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases. This award was first established in 2024.

Eligibility
The successful candidate is a clinical microbiologist holding a doctoral-level degree (e.g., Ph.D., Sc.D., DrPH, M.D., D.O., or equivalent) and is within a period of 10 years after completion of postgraduate training (i.e., residency, fellowship, postdoctoral training, etc.) in a related scientific field. Nominations can be based on a single major achievement or the aggregate of a number of exemplary achievements.
Nominees for the 海角直播 Award for Early Career Clinical Microbiology Research will be evaluated based on their overall contributions to promoting research in the field of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases, especially their scientific contribution in the area of microbiology determined by studies published in recognized scientific journals, grant awards and works presented at national/international meetings.
Nominators must address how the nominees meet the criteria and how they have made significant contributions to the field.
Nominations Must Include:
- . Nominator will need to create a free 海角直播 account or log in to their current 海角直播 account to complete the nomination. Self-nominations will not be accepted (in other words, you cannot nominate yourself for the award).
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the nominee is required for nomination. After the nomination form is submitted by the nominator, the nominees will be asked by 海角直播 to provide a current CV or enter highlights from their achievements on a CV template. Completing the CV template is highly recommended, but the selection committee will accept either the template or the nominee’s current CV.
- Nominee Statement. Nominees will be asked to provide a nominee statement describing their most significant contributions to the field of microbial sciences, explaining how their contributions meet the criteria for the award and why they are deserving of the award.

- A cash prize of $1,700.

Award Selection Process
All eligible nominations will be reviewed by the respective award selection committee. The committee members will use the nomination materials to evaluate each nominee using the described eligibility criteria. The committee will discuss outstanding candidates and determine the awardee for that year. The committee takes into consideration various factors about the nominees in the decision to ensure the selected awardee is a strong example of excellence in the field. 海角直播 awards are granted at the discretion of award selection committees and might not be awarded every year.
