����ֱ�� ( ����ֱ��), on behalf of more than 38,000 members in the United States and around the world, thanks Rep. Mike Levin and Rep. David Valadao for introducing the Saving Us from Pandemic Era Resistance by Building a Unified Global Strategy (SUPER BUGS) Act. Passage of the SUPER BUGS Act will address the rapid development of drug-resistant infections by fostering increased collaboration to prevent the next potential health crisis. ����ֱ�� is pleased to offer our support for the SUPER BUGS Act to address the rising problem of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). 

AMR is one of the greatest public health threats of our time. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) more than 2.8 million antimicrobial-resistant infections occur in the U.S. each year, and more than 35,000 people die as a result. The threat of AMR does not stop at geopolitical borders; if we do not act now, by 2050 antimicrobial-resistant infections are expected to be a leading cause of death globally. Global communication and collaboration are needed for early detection and containment of infectious diseases and prevention of AMR. The SUPER BUGS Act will advance American leadership in the fight against AMR.
