Iyiola Oladunjoye is a Nigerian microbiologist and vaccinologist whose work centers on harnessing the immune system to prevent disease, from infectious outbreaks to cancer. His journey in microbial sciences began in 2018, when he graduated from the University of Ilorin with a First Class Honors B.S. in microbiology, gaining early experience in environmental microbiology and public health.

Oladunjoye went on to complete the highly competitive Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree in Vaccinology (Leading International Vaccinology Education, LIVE), training across 5 European institutions, including Universitat Aut貌noma de Barcelona and Universitat de Barcelona in Spain, the University of Antwerp in Belgium and Universit茅 Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and Universit茅 Jean Monnet, Saint-Etienne in France. This work spanned immunology, infectiology, clinical research and vaccine regulation, with industry exposure at companies such as GSK, Pfizer and Sanofi. He completed his master’s thesis at the Oxford Vaccine Group, University of Oxford, focusing on viral-vector vaccine design against outbreak pathogens, and subsequently worked as a research assistant supporting a Marburg virus Phase I clinical trial and Sudan Ebola vaccine preclinical testing.

Oladunjoye is now a DPhil researcher based at , Oxford branch. His doctoral research is focused on developing preventive cancer vaccines, using heterologous viral-vector approaches to induce mutation-specific T-cell responses. His broader interests continue to span vaccine immunology, disease prevention and translational research.

Driven by a desire to strengthen workforce development in microbial sciences, Oladunjoye served as an 海角直播 Young Ambassador to Nigeria from January 2021, alongside roles in the 海角直播 Young Leaders Circle and as an 海角直播 Future Leaders Mentoring Fellow. He organized professional development training, webinars and workshops for the next generation of bioscientists in Nigeria, and has contributed to 海角直播 initiatives, including the Microbiology Leaders Evolving and Accountable to Progress (MicroBio-LEAP) project and the Progress, Impact, Access and Accountability (PIAA) Committee of the Board. In recognition of this service, he received the inaugural 海角直播 Young Ambassador Award of Excellence at 海角直播 Microbe 2024 in Atlanta and was honored with a Diana Award in 2023.
